Regret

tracked by butterflies
a maiden scent
possessed by a tree
stands in the midst of a whirlwind –
tusks on a rough hide
that found her encamped in sleep

a heartburn and a wail
summons a bird sent to deliver death
to the laughter of demons
and daylight

as her glass face shatters
the mystery coil of birth
that moon
dragged over rooftops
arrests a sacred wish

another for love
upon a love’s lip
sliver of a dying moon
lasts
in melancholy
learned through a storm inside
