Mainstream nuclear family ideals are losing social and
economic legitimacy in an age where capitalism has created a rift between men
and women, where gender wars are played out in domestic theatres fashioned by
trends punted by media.
Atomized individuality that results from media
indoctrination, weaved into popular culture through narratives found in films
and music for an example, is the ample weapon.
Once media has normalized one’s feeling of alienation, or
even one’s degenerate behavioral impulses, explorations of the vulgar will be
soon tend to be viewed as ‘new’ spheres of desire, lauded as bold exhibitions
of courage.
These spheres of desire though expressing an ever growing defective
psychology between the sexes will consummate an unholy alliance where even
conservative notions of matrimony will be viewed as oppressive and repressive.
Men and women will aim to emulate marriages viewed on
romantic comedies and soap operas, but once a tension between mass media logic
and human fundamental moral make up is encountered, staunch resistance from
many socially ousted individuals will reach a tipping point.
Violence in the
home will reach a fever pitch as ‘repressive tolerances’ for each other’s
flawed preferences begin to fail individual goals espoused by each partner in a
marriage or family.
